NAME
Scott Harris
BIOGRAPHY
Raised in medieval Iceland, Scott would walk fifteen miles to his weekly bass lesson. The bitter cold wind tore at his ragged guitar case, but nothing could keep this determined young boy from learning more about chords and rhythm. Once, when times were tough, Scott sold a gold filling in a tooth to avoid having to part with his prized instrument. The tooth is long gone, but Scott now boasts an impressive collection of stringed devices. Spinal Tap’s Nigel Tufnel, upon seeing Scott’s fleet remarked, “Gracious. That’s a lot of guitars.” Gracious, indeed. Scott’s goal is to acquire one of every guitar and bass, and maybe even two of some. He plans to assemble to largest touring bass rig ever, as long as he never has to personally transport it, in which case he’ll bring a practice amp.
Since leaving Iceland in the early 19th century, Scott settled (make that “established residence,” because no one in the Rachel Leyco Band ever settles for anything) in Mechanicsville, Virginia, with his family. Instead of walking mile after treacherous mile to and fro’ lessons, Scott now teaches lessons of bass and guitar variety and typically drives his car. He has recently established himself as the premier technician for stringed instruments in the Richmond area, performing all types of repairs and maintenance.
