Brazil Home Shirt 2014

Nike unveiled the new Brazil football shirt at an event in Rio de Janeiro. The kit worn by the players next year, integrates performance innovation, cultural design and sustainable materials together.

“It is a great honor and it fills me with pride to present the new shirt of the selection to the fans in Rio,” said Luiz Gustavo of the Brazilian National Team.

Ultimate Experience of Cooling and Comfort

The kit enhances performance by changing player body temperature in the process of match. By blending a Nike Dri-FIT technology and small mesh area with laser-cut ventilation hole, players’ body temperature will be regulated at events when needed.

This cutting-edge technology pulls sweat away from the skin to the outside of the football kits more quickly. Laser-cut ventilation holes and geometric mesh areas on football shirts, in which heat is generated, improve performances of breathability and airflow.

“By managing sweat and keeping the body cooler longer, players feel more comfortable, sweat less, and perform better,” said Martin Lotti, Creative Director for Nike Football.

The kit is made with a new dual-knit fabrication that blends cotton with recycled plastics in a best scale to enhance the performance of football shirts and helping players focusing on competition, while cutting-edge technology makes new football shirts softer.

Sustainable Materials

In order to redeeming promises to higher performance with lower environmental effect, all related clothes are made from recycled plastic bottles, including the shirt, short national team kit and socks (100% recycled polyester in the shorts, 96% recycled polyester in the shirt and 78% in the socks). Each kit is made by 18 recycled plastic bottles on average. Since 2010, Nike has diverted almost 2 billion bottles from landfills, enough to cover over 2800 football pitches.
